2025 Impact Report
Water is the defining challenge of our time
Climate change is water change. Water is where climate pressure becomes operational reality for utilities, cities, agriculture, industry, and households. At the same time, water remains one of the most undercapitalized areas in climate and infrastructure innovation. We believe that is changing, and that water will increasingly sit at the center of adaptation, resilience, and long-term economic productivity.
Our Approach
We invest in technologies that help water and wastewater services reach people and businesses at the right quality, quantity, price, place, and time. Our approach is grounded in the belief that the strongest impact compounds alongside strong commercial outcomes.
We measure impact across four core categories:
Access
Expanding access to safe, reliable water and sanitation
Treatment & Reuse
Advancing circular systems and wastewater treatment
Efficiency & Safety
Improving performance, reliability, and workforce outcomes
Climate Adaptation & Mitigation
Reducing emissions and strengthening resilience to water-related shocks
Impact at a Glance
Across the portfolio, companies are already delivering measurable outcomes at scale: billions of gallons of water processed, hundreds of millions of gallons saved, major incident-response improvements, and expanded treatment, reuse, and energy capacity.

Beyond Capital
Burnt Island Ventures is not only a source of capital. We work closely with founders to help them scale through fundraising support, strategic guidance, partnerships, operational help, and access to a deep water-sector network. In 2025, that included more than 900 value-add activities, founder forums, and support across hiring, strategy, and go-to-market execution.
We are still early in understanding the full downstream impact of water innovation. But the trajectory is clear: water technologies are becoming foundational to resilient cities, sustainable industries, and long-term climate adaptation. Burnt Island Ventures will continue to back the systems, founders, and technologies shaping that future.
